BETTA BELIZE IT!!!

Belize City is no longer the capital of Belize (the current capital is Belmopan), but it’s still the largest city in the country. With a population of about 80,000, it is Belize’s center for industry and commerce.

Located in Eastern Belize, it sits on a small peninsula that juts out into the Caribbean Sea. Its proximity to the ocean has given it prestige as the country’s principal port. Many cruise ships stop there, as it has long been a popular destination for tourists.

Belize City occupies both banks of the Haulover Creek, a delta month of the Belize River on the Caribbean coast, its name was probably derived from an ancient Maya Indian word that refers to the Belize River, which was until the 10th century a heavily populated trade artery of the Maya empire.
